Welcome to My Blog + What to Expect

Welcome to My Blog + What to Expect

Hello, everyone! Welcome to my blog; I’m glad you’re here!

If we haven’t met yet, my name is Katelyn. I am a Christian, aspiring author, Etsy shop owner, college student, and avid reader.

I love writing Christian fiction across a variety of genres. I’ve been writing stories for nearly as long as I can remember, and I finished drafting my first novella when I was 14 years old. I don’t have any published stories quite yet, but I will be getting a short story published in a collection soon (more details to come!). I also hope to independently publish my main WIP once I am finished. It is a contemporary middle grade novel, working title The Sullivan Six, that is about a family of six (all of their kids are adopted from foster care) and their adventurous summer where they solve a mystery together and learn how God works all things together for good. If you are interested in learning more about my stories, you can visit my Works page!

I own an Etsy shop, All Things in Order Co., where I sell digital downloads that will help you organize your time and inspire you in Christ. I sell a variety of products, such as printable planners, Scripture cards, templates for authors, party/holiday templates, travel templates, and more (a few of which are pictured below)! I also have a Pinterest page and newsletter for my shop, if you are interested!

One of my favorite hobbies is reading! I enjoy a variety of genres, but my favorites are contemporary Christian fiction and historical fiction (especially if it is set during the WWII era). A few of my favorite books are Our Yellow Tape Letters by Caitlin Miller, Counted Worthy by Leah E. Good, O To Be Like Thee by Kassie Angle, and Beautiful Blue World by Suzanne LeFleur. I regularly post book reviews on my Goodreads account.

When I’m not writing, reading, or working on my Etsy shop, I can usually be found tackling homework, tutoring fellow students in writing, playing board games with family or friends (Wingspan and Ticket to Ride are a few favorites of mine), knitting, or playing with my three guinea pigs, Mikkel, McKinley, and Riley.

You might be wondering what to expect in the future from my blog. I have decided to create a set posting schedule for myself to keep things organized, posting each Saturday and having a specific post type for each week. This schedule will look like the following:

First Saturday of the month: Monthly update (updates on writing, Etsy shop, what I’ve been reading, etc.)

Second Saturday of the month: Book review (this will be more in-depth than my typical Goodreads reviews)

Third Saturday of the month: A random post related to writing or reading (this could be something like meeting one of my characters, the story behind my story ideas, a tag about books, a list of seasonal reading recommendations, etc.)

Fourth Saturday of the month: Book review

Fifth Saturday of the month (if there is one): Random post! This will be completely random; it could be something to get to know me better, a devotional, tips about writing, or something totally different!

I will generally stick to this schedule, but there may also be some extra posts on occasion if I have something to share that doesn’t fit elsewhere!

Thank you for reading; I am excited to start this blogging journey, and I hope you will join me! I will be back next Saturday with a recap of my January. In the meantime, you can leave a comment, and subscribe so you don’t miss my next post! I would love to hear what you would be interested in seeing on my blog, and if we have any hobbies or interests in common!

Until next week!
